Educational scopes of the program
Training Graduates of the departments in order:
- to have knowledge in Mining Engineering and related fields, that enabling graduates to work in technical, research, work safety or executive positions,
- to have the ability to analyze and solve design and project-based problems in mining engineering and related fields using modern mining principles and practices,
- to have the ability to team work with teams in Mining Engineering and related fields,
- to have effective written and verbal communication skills,
- to be aware of laws and ethical principles related to the profession,
- to have lifelong learning awareness (philosophy) in both professional life and outside of professional
Program Outcomes
- An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering in mining engineering field.
- An ability to identify, formulate and solve mining engineering problems.
- An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability.
- An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for mining engineering practice.
- An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data related to mining engineering problems.
- An ability to function individually and as a team member in inter- or multi-disciplines.
- An ability to communicate in written and oral forms in Turkish/English.
- Recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in lifelong learning.
- An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
- Awareness of project, risk and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship, innovativeness and sustainable development.
- The broad education necessary to understand the impact of mining engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, legal and societal context.
